Senior Business Application Developer’s are responsible for participating in the development, maintenance and enhancement of the Portal application. Under the guidance of a Portal Technology Manager, they collaborate with company customers, staff members, IT colleagues, and other stake holders to define detailed customer experience, requirements, interfaces, access available technologies, and develop and present solutions. The primary function is to assess objectives for the assigned project phases and recommend technical strategies and tactics to achieve business needs.The brief skill set for this position includes knowledge of SAP Enterprise Portal v 6, SAP Knowledge Management, and SAP’s collaboration tools. Content management and object oriented J2EE application development experience is a plus.

Key Work Performed:

Collect and analyze business requirements for large, multifunctional projects. Identify conflicting business practices and integration issues, suggesting alternative solutions.

Perform feasibility studies, translating requirements into an appropriate design.

Formulate and define application scope and objectives; devise and modify procedures to solve business problems.

Lead small projects from start to completion using various internet technologies.

Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions.

Create and update required documentation.

Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels.

Other assigned responsibilities necessary for completion of IS mission.


B. Experience:
2+ years hands-on configuration experience implementing SAP EP6 and/or similar Portal packages
Experience with structured design, development and implementation of new computing architecture.
Knowledge of project management practices and techniques. Hands on
knowledge of configuration of SAP EP6 product and programming using J2EE
Strong technical knowledge, with hands-on experience managing systems development in new computing architectures and environments (e.g. client/server Web); knowledge of relevant technology, tools, and middleware is critical.
Solid understanding of the SAP EP6 architecture model
Thorough business understanding of Portal and Information Delivery principals, as well as an understanding of the organization’s industry.
Familiarity with SAP and SAP BW architecture a big plus.


Salary: $ 75,000 – 85,000
