Manager, Portal and Enterprise Reporting
General Summary:
This position is responsible for managing and planning of all activities in support of the Corporate Portal and Enterprise Reporting. This includes coordinating diverse Web applications development and promoting portal solutions for staff and customer. Manage multiple application development, maintenance, and enhancement projects leveraging SAP Portal and Netweaver. Primary focus area includes collaborating with the design, development, release and maintenance of enterprise-wide portal systems. Core business systems within the scope of responsibility for this position are SAP Portal, Netweaver, Web Development tools, enterprise reporting development and other data mining and analytical tool sets. Primary focus areas include collaborating with business unit management, Technology/Business Consultants, various IS functional areas and outside consultants to assess feasibility, determine costs vs. benefits, prioritize projects, and develop and implement systems plans that address the information requirements of the business and adhere to established strategic business and systems objectives. This individual manages the activities of a group of developers, who work closely with their customers in defining customer requirements and in designing, developing, and implementing portal and enterprise reporting solutions.
Key Work Performed:
• Manage all aspects of system analysis, design, development, installation, maintenance and enhancement for mission-critical application systems for assigned unit/area.
• Develop project resourcing strategies, allocating budget, staff, tools and specialized support necessary for cost-effective implementation.
• Provide direction to project managers and integrate activities with other IS departments o ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.
• Act as general contractor on projects to develop appropriate support from various technology and service departments.
• Ensure that application systems are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices.
• Monitor and report to IS and user/customer management on the status of multiple concurrent project efforts.
• Anticipate and identify issues inhibiting the attainment of project goals; develop and implement corrective actions.
• Foster and maintain good relationships with customers to ensure processes are integrated to support expected customer service levels.
• Facilitate the creation of a team environment.
• Provide for the overall career development of direct IS associates reports by conducting performance reviews, establishing/tracking annual goals, and developing/obtaining a personal development plan.
• Contribute to the development of annual business application system plans.
• Other assigned duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
A. Education:
Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Management Information Systems
B. Experience:
5+ years experience developing solutions, managing business integration projects and portal implementations.
5+ years managing experience and at least 5 years of demonstrated IS project management experience involving multiple major development projects.
At least 3 years of SAP experience (PORTAL)
Experience in search, metadata-based filtration and content lifecycle models.
Experience managing corporate intranet and portals.
C. Knowledge:
Strong technical knowledge, with hands-on experience managing systems development in SAP’s Portal and Netweaver environment.
Broad knowledge of the business direction and practices.
Excellent human resource management skills.
Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and IS project life cycle methodologies.
Knowledge of management practices and techniques.
Knowledge and experience in developing strategic information systems plans
Knowledge of SAP applications and the relevant integrations points between these two and other systems or sources of data.
