Senior FICO Functional Analyst

General Summary:
Senior Business Application Developer’s are responsible for participating in the development, maintenance and enhancement of business applications. Under the guidance of a Business Application Manager, they collaborate with company customers, staff members, IT colleagues, and other stake holders to define detailed customer requirements and system interfaces, access available technologies, and develop and present solutions. The primary function is to assess objectives for the assigned project phases and recommend technical strategies and tactics to achieve business needs.

Key Work Performed:
• Provide technical expertise within an assigned business unit/area, usually as a member of a project team, in the analysis, design and development of business applications.
• Provide technical consulting support on project or system issues.
• Collect and analyze business requirements for large, multifunctional projects. Identify conflicting business practices and integration issues, suggesting alternative solutions.
• Perform feasibility studies, translating requirements into an appropriate design.
• Configure SAP functionality to satisfy business requirements.
• Formulate and define application scope and objectives; devise and modify procedures to solve business problems.
• Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
• Lead small projects or regularly coach other project personnel to ensure business application systems are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices.
• Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions.
• Create and update required documentation.
• Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels.
• Other assigned responsibilities necessary for completion of IS mission.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

A. Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Services or business-related (functional) discipline (accounting, finance, etc.), with and understanding of programming concepts.

B. Experience:
• 5 years hands-on configuration experience implementing SAP R/3 Finance (FI) and Controling (CO) in Fortune 500 clients.
• Experience with addressing help desk issues in areas of expertise and assisting with user problems in associated areas.
• Experience in Retail, Manufacturing or Consumer Products Industry
• Experience with structured design, development and implementation of new computing architecture.

C. Knowledge:
• Knowledge of project management practices and techniques.
• A “hands on” functional expert in the R/3 Finance and Controlling modules with the ability to configure and trouble shoot.
• Deep knowledge of the Finance and Controlling modules and integration to SD, MM, PP, and HR.
• Fundemental understanding of the R/3 Enhancement Concept including Data Dictionary and CMOD enhancements.
• Fundamental understanding of Workflow, IDOC’s, and EDI support.

D. Skills and Abilities/ Competencies:
• Strong technical knowledge, with hands-on experience managing systemsdevelopment in new computing architectures and environments (e.g. client/server Web); knowledge of relevant technology, tools, and middleware is critical.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.
• Good project management skills, operating as part of a team organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation.
• Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks.
• Comprehensive understanding of SAP’s customizing toolset, including IMG (Implementing Management Guide)
• SAP configuration skills in one or more modules, including FICO.
• Solid understanding of SAP’s data model in one or more functional areas, including FICO.
• Thorough business understanding in one or more functional areas, as well as an understanding of the organization’s industry.
• Familiarity with SAP architecture.
